The Herons Nest is our latest bespoke addition to "The Galloway Steading". Crafted in Galloway forest timber, stunning views and a fully enclosed pet* friendly garden, this pod is perfect for getaway. A hot tub and fire pit ensure you can fully enjoy beautiful views and gorgeous black skies at night. With a fully equipped kitchen and shower room, 1 double bed and a double sofa-bed, we're hoping this is the perfect base for your adventures. *£13/pet per stay payable on arrival. Please note that earlier & later check in times are offered after booking confirmation. Free Wi-Fi available.

Space
A beautiful roomy, cosy and warm open plan space with decking boasting a dining area and covered hot tub area. You'll have your own private fully enclosed garden with a fire pit and bbq to fully enjoy the outdoors.
Access
Your cabin is entirely private. You are welcome to use our secret garden which houses a swing set, play house and picnic table.
Interaction With Guests
Although we live on site, we value our guest's privacy and are around as much as you need us to be. We love interacting with our guests, but we also understand how lovely it is to escape and relax. Just let us know if you need anything at all!

Countryside. 15 minutes from Stranraer for all amenities, 25 minutes from Newton Stewart. Surrounded by farmland and lovely views and only 10 min walk to beach in one direction and 5 min walk to river and woodland walks. The perfect setting for a relaxing getaway or to simply sit in your private hot tub or garden and enjoy the beautiful dark skies.

We are pet friendly here at the Galloway steading all of our accommodation has secure private safe areas for your family friend that coupled with lots of lovely walks all around us should ensure a fun break for them too. There's a £13 charge per dog per stay max 3 per accommodation payable on arrival. Glenluce and the surrounding areas offer various sports and outdoor activities for tourists who enjoy staying active. We stayed for 2 nights as a couple with our dog. The glamping pod was cozy and warm with a great ambience. Initial communication with host difficult perhaps due to a platform issue but this was resolved and responses were prompt after we arrived. We enjoyed the hot tub which was clean and warm when we arrived which also had a nice view of the starry skies on a clear night. We also used the BBQ grill provided (starter pack available to purchase at their shed shop). Heating and water pressure was also excellent. All amenities were new and working well (microwave, oven, and fridge) and the kitchen was fully stocked. The securely fenced yard was also a plus for our dog. The location was great - near farms, the beach, the golf course and also the town of Glenluce (2 min drive) and Stranraer (12 min drive) - definitely try the excellent walks recommended in their welcome guide! We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay here again!

Fantastic accommodation, loved our stay. Even in the depths of winter the pod was warm and the hot tub was a great way to relax. Spotlessly clean throughout, very comfortable & cosy. The views from the pod were lovely. Hoping to revisit again in summer!
